Teeing Up Hope: Golfers Raise over $67,000 for The Children’s Foundation
August 28, 2025
The Children’s Foundation is proud to announce that the annual “Play Around for the Kids Golf Tournament”, presented by Team Guernsey Real Estate, raised over $67,000 in support of the Foundation’s Playing for Keeps program.
A full field of 144 golfers signed up for the cause, but the real winners were the children in our community. Thanks to the generosity of participants, sponsors, and volunteers, the funds raised will help ensure that every child and youth in Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties have social and physical opportunities to explore, learn, play, and thrive.
“We are so grateful to Team Guernsey Real Estate for their title sponsorship and to everyone who joined us on the course this year,” said Ingrid Moore, Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation. “It was a rainy day, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of our golfers, sponsors and volunteers! Together, we are building a stronger community by giving kids the chance to experience the joy and benefits of play.”
Community Engagement and Events Co-Ordinator Dreya Richardson says “The event was postponed from earlier this Spring so a huge thanks to our golf committee who planned this event not once but twice! We are grateful to our golf committee of Beckie Sarles-Davis, Sheri Thompson and Sam Dafoe for their thoughtful planning and hard work bringing this event together.”
The Playing for Keeps program provides children with opportunities that foster growth, development, and connection — from recreational activities to educational experiences. Every dollar raised goes directly toward creating safe, inclusive spaces where kids can build confidence, make friends, and thrive.

Thank you to our 2025 sponsors!
